Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP)?

We're university-qualified allied health professionals who specialise in prescribing exercise to you safely.

You begin with a comprehensive assessment, where we take the time to understand your health, assess how your body moves, and identify the exercises that are right for you.

We then create a personalised exercise program and guide you through every step, so you can exercise safely, confidently and with the support of an expert.

I've tried other allied health services (Physiotherapy / Osteopathy / Chiropractic / Personal Trainer) before, why should I see an Exercise Physiologist?

We believe in taking a holistic, supervised approach to exercise. That means looking beyond a single injury or symptom to understand your whole body, your health history, your goals and anything that may be holding you back.

We then create a personalised exercise program tailored specifically to you and guide you through every session, so you can build strength, improve your movement and progress safely with expert support.

You'll never be left second-guessing yourself or sent home with a list of exercises you're unsure how to perform safely or effectively.

What is the difference between an Physiotherapist and an Exercise Physiologist?

Both are allied health professionals who have done a minimum of 4 years’ study at university, however there are differences in their areas of expertise. Exercise physiologists use evidence-based movement and exercise intervention for chronic disease prevention and management, musculoskeletal injuries and weight management.

Physiotherapists can diagnose a range of conditions and use various methods to treat musculoskeletal problems, alleviate pain, restore function and manage chronic conditions.

What is the difference between a Personal Trainer and an Exercise Physiologist?

Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are university-qualified allied health professionals who specialise in using exercise to improve health and manage health conditions, injuries and physical limitations.

AEPs complete a minimum four-year university degree, including around 1,000 hours of practical experience, and must maintain their accreditation through ongoing professional development to stay up to date with the latest research and evidence-based exercise practices.

Personal Trainers primarily focus on general fitness, strength and performance, with a significantly shorter qualification pathway. While a Personal Trainer can be excellent for general fitness, an AEP has the clinical education and expertise to assess individual health needs and develop safe, evidence-based exercise programs for people with more complex health considerations.

Is it safe with my age, pain or health condition?

For over 10 years we've worked with people of all ages who are living with injuries, chronic conditions, disabilities or age-related changes.

We start at a level that's right for you, monitor your progress closely with 1:1 supervision and adjust your program as you improve, so you always feel safe, supported and confident.
